Reeuwijkse Hout is an intensively used area, with next to nature also recreation. In the ditches you will find water soldier (Stratiotes aloides) and in the bank zone the yellow iris (Iris pseudacorus) blooms in the spring and in some places you can see flowery areas with species such as rattle (Rhinanthus) and silene (Lychnis). For birders there are plenty birds to enjoy. Not only the various meadowbirds and songbirds around the lake area in the spring and summer, but certainly also the winter guests. Birds you can encounter include Usignolo di fiume, Usignolo, Airone bianco maggiore, Capinera, Bigiarella, Mestolone, Quattrocchi and Lodolaio.

Nederlands: Wandel langs het water en door de oer-Hollandse polders van de Reeuwijkse Hout. In dit intensief gebruikte gebied is er naast recreatie veel natuur te vinden. In de sloten vind je krabbenscheer en in de oeverzone bloeit in het voorjaar de gele lis en kun je op enkele plekken bloemrijke stukken met soorten als ratelaar en koekoeksbloem zien. Voor de vogelaars onder ons is er genoeg te genieten. Niet alleen van de diverse weide- en zangvogels rond het plassengebied in het voorjaar en de zomer, maar zeker ook van de wintergasten. Vogels die je ondermeer kunt tegenkomen zijn Usignolo di fiume, Usignolo, Airone bianco maggiore, Capinera, Bigiarella, Mestolone, Quattrocchi en Lodolaio.

Reeuwijkse Hout is a beautiful nature and recreation area on the northwest side of the Reeuwijkse Plassen. The area is easily accessible, it is located right next to the exit of the A12 motorway. There are several parking lots available. Press P on the map for directions to a parking lot. From there you can explore the area on foot. The circular walk indicated on the map is approximately 6 km.

Nederlands: Reeuwijkse Hout is een schitterend natuur- en recreatiegebied aan de noordwestkant van de Reeuwijkse Plassen. Het gebied is goed bereikbaar, het ligt vlak naast de afrit van de A12. Parkeerplaatsen zijn aanwezig. Druk op P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar een parkeerplaats. Vanaf daar kun je vervolgens het gebied te voet verkennen. De rondwandeling die is aangegeven op de kaart is ongeveer 6 km.
