Polder Zeevang is a former marshland area and the soil contains mostly peat and clay. Therefore, the area is very wet and the water level is often high, which results in wet pastures and damp meadows. A beautiful landscape for many species of waterbird. In summer, common species of wader that can be found on these pastures are Pittima reale, Pettegola and Pavoncella. The small puddles attract many more waders and other species. The area is also used as breeding habitat by Allodola, Pispola and Cutrettola.
In winter, the area attracts large numbers of geese and ducks. Massive flocks of Oca lombardella, Oca selvatica and Oca facciabianca can be found. The ditches are used by many species of duck, like Mestolone, Moretta, but mainly by thousands and thousands of Fischione. During the day, they tend to stay in the ditches or forage just on the pastures adjacent to these ditches. At night, they tend to go further into the area. Another great species for the area is Piviere dorato and flocks can be seen resting in the open pastures during the day.

Dat resulteert in natte weilanden en vochtige weilanden. Een prachtig landschap voor vele soorten watervogels. In de zomer zijn Pittima reale, Pettegola en Pavoncella veel voorkomende soorten steltlopers die op deze weiden voorkomen. De kleine plassen trekken veel meer steltlopers en andere soorten aan. De sloten worden gebruikt door vele soorten eenden, zoals Mestolone, Moretta, maar vooral door duizenden en duizenden Fischione. Overdag blijven ze in de sloten of foerageren ze alleen op de weilanden die aan deze sloten grenzen. 'S Nachts hebben ze de neiging om verder het gebied in te gaan. Een andere geweldige soort voor het gebied is Piviere dorato en er zijn overdag groepen te zien die rusten in de open weiden.

You can access the area by car, bicycle or you can just walk. The best way to observe the birds, is by car. They tend to stay put when people stay in their cars and just pull over every now and then.
