The area is easily accessible with a walking path around the two lakes. It is unique to have such an area so close to the city. Common reedbirds like Forapaglie comune, Migliarino di palude and Cannaiola breed in the reedbeds. Other birds that can be heard or seen are Pittima reale, Volpoca, Avocetta, Spatola and Pettazzurro. Numerous geese and duck species can be seen.
The unpaved trails lead right past puddles full of waders and geese. The Pavoncella stunt around you to divert attention from their nests.
