The Papeschor is a small nature reserve located on the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal. On top of the dike there is a viewpoint from which you can look out over the area. The nature reserve consists of a drier part with bushes and pools and a wet part with old creek arms and a bird island. Birds you may encounter in the area include Volpoca, Mestolone, Avocetta, Chiurlo maggiore, Pittima reale, Combattente, Pantana, Piro piro piccolo, Oca granaiola della tundra, Gabbiano corallino, Spatola and Cutrettola. But also some more rare birds such as Svasso piccolo, Cavaliere d'Italia, Totano moro and Gambecchio nano are also seen here.

Nederlands: Het Papeschor ligt direct aan het Kanaal Gent-Terneuzen. Het is een klein natuurgebied met 22 hectare krekennatuur. De oude kreeklopen zijn hier hersteld. Bovenop het dijkje is een uitkijkpunt waarvan je over het gebied kan uitkijken. Het natuurgebied bestaat uit een wat droger deel met bosjes en poelen en een nat gedeelte met oude kreekarmen en een vogeleilandje. Het Papeschor verbindt de natte natuurgebieden in Zeeuws Vlaanderen met de Belgische kreken. Vogels die je in het gebied kan tegenkomen zijn onder meer Volpoca, Mestolone, Avocetta, Chiurlo maggiore, Pittima reale, Combattente, Pantana, Piro piro piccolo, Oca granaiola della tundra, Gabbiano corallino, Spatola en Cutrettola. Maar ook wat meer zeldzame vogels als Svasso piccolo, Cavaliere d'Italia, Totano moro en Gambecchio nano worden hier gezien.

The Papeschor is located on the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal, 8 km south of Terneuzen and 2 km north of Sas van Gent. The east side of the area can be overlooked from the cycle path along the Terneuzen - Sas van Gent road, but there is nowhere to park on this side and so the east side is only easily accessible for cyclists. You can reach the west side by walking along an unpaved path to the viewpoint. Parking is available at the beginning of the road, but make sure you do not block the entrance to the path. Nederlands: Het Papeschor ligt aan het Kanaal Gent-Terneuzen op 8 km ten zuiden van Terneuzen en 2 km ten noorden van Sas van Gent. De oostkant van het gebied is te overzien van het fietspad langs de weg Terneuzen - Sas van Gent, maar aan deze kant kun je nergens parkeren en dus is de oostkant alleen goed bereikbaar voor fietsers. De westkant kun je bereiken door over een onverhard pad naar het uitzichtpunt te lopen. Parkeren kan aan het begin van de weg, maar zorg dat je de ingang van het pad niet blokkeert.
