The Oude Buisse Heide nature reserve was donated in 1945 to Natuurmonumenten (Dutch nature trust) by poet Henriette Roland Holst. The area consists of forest, heathland and ponds. Together with the adjacent nature reserves De Wallsteijn, De Reten and De Moeren, the Oude Buisse Heide forms a beautiful walking area. You walk through old forests and along meadows, fields, ponds, heathland, hedgerows and farms.
The Oude Buisse Heide and the surrounding forest are rich in birds. On the heath you can encounter Saltimpalo, Tottavilla and Prispolone. Other birds that live in the area include Frosone, Capinera, Beccafico, Codirosso, Pigliamosche, Balia nera and Picchio muratore. In the old forests you can encounter Picchio rosso maggiore, Picchio rosso minore, Picchio rosso mezzano, Picchio verde and Picchio nero. In addition to birds, you can encounter butterflies, dragonflies and several species of bats.

Nederlands: De Oude Buisse Heide is een natuurgebied en landgoed van 200 hectare bij Zundert. In 1945 werd het door Henriette Roland Holst geschonken aan de Natuurmonumenten. Het gebied bestaat uit bos, heide en vennen. Aan de oostkant sluit de Oude Buisse heide aan bij het ruim 100 hectare grote natuurgebied De Wallsteijn. De Oude Buisse Heide vormt samen met De Wallsteijn, De Reten en De Moeren een prachtig wandelgebied. Het gebied heeft diverse wandelroutes. Je wandelt door oude bossen en langs weilanden, akkertjes, vennetjes, heide, houtwallen en boerderijen.
De Oude Buisse Heide en het omliggende bos is rijk aan vogels. Op de heide kun je Saltimpalo, Tottavilla en Prispolone tegenkomen. Andere vogels die in het gebied leven zijn onder meer Frosone, Capinera, Beccafico, Codirosso, Pigliamosche, Balia nera en Picchio muratore. In de oude bossen kun je Picchio rosso maggiore, Picchio rosso minore, Picchio rosso mezzano, Picchio verde en Picchio nero tegenkomen. Naast vogels is het landgoed ook een goede plek voor veel verschillende soorten vlinders, libellen en vleermuizen.

The Oude Buisse Heide is located west of the town of Zundert, near the small village of Achtmaal. There are various walking routes in the area that vary in length. The circular walk indicated on the map is the Henriette Roland Holst route of approximately 5 km, which is marked with red arrows. You can park at the start of the route at the Roosendaalsebaan. Press P on the map for directions to the car park.

De op de kaart aangeven rondwandeling is de Henriette Roland Holst route van ongeveer 5 km die is gemarkeerd met rode pijlen. Je kunt parkeren aan het begin van de route aan de Roosendaalsebaan. Druk op P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplaats.
