The Kleine Willemswaard is a small and rugged floodplain area on the river Waal. The area has been turned into a nature reserve by Ark Nature. The Kleine Willemswaard is grazed by Scottish highland cattle. Birds that you may encounter or have been seen in the area are Oca lombardella, Moretta, Martin pescatore, Fischione, Cuculo, Cardellino, Gheppio, Gufo di palude, Volpoca, Saltimpalo and Migliarino di palude.

Nederlands: De Kleine Willemswaard is een klein en ruig uiterwaardengebied aan de Waal. Deze stadswaard grenst direct aan de de stad Tiel en is een Natura 2000 gebied. Het gebied is ontwikkeld tot natuurgebied door Ark Natuurontwikkeling. Het gebied is klein en vrij overzichtelijk. De Kleine Willemswaard wordt begraasd door Schotse hooglanders. Vogels die je er kunt aantreffen of in het gebied zijn gezien zijn Oca lombardella, Moretta, Martin pescatore, Fischione, Cuculo, Cardellino, Gheppio, Gufo di palude, Volpoca, Saltimpalo en Migliarino di palude.

Accesso
The Kleine Willemswaard is easily accessible on foot from Tiel. The area itself is also best explored on foot. The area is not wheelchair accessible. You can park at the top of the dike, or drive up to the control tower of Rijkswaterstaat.

Nederlands: De Kleine Willemswaard is prima te voet bereikbaar vanuit Tiel. Het gebied zelf kun je ook het beste wandelend verkennen. Het gebied is niet rolstoel toegankelijk. Parkeren kan boven aan de dijk, of doorrijden tot de verkeerstoren van Rijkswaterstaat.
