Jonkmanshof consists of three lakes separated by small dikes. Nice birding area for mostly common birds. This can change during autumn migration in August and September. If the waterlevels are very low and mudflats appear during autumn migration you can see nice birds here like Spatola (sometimes big groups), Piro piro culbianco, Piro piro piccolo, Garzetta, Beccaccino and Pantana. Regular guests in the area are Cuculo, Picchio verde, Cormorano, Martin pescatore, Moriglione, Airone bianco maggiore, Pettazzurro and Mestolone.

Nederlands: Jonksmanshof is een voormalige kleiput die nu bestaat uit drie waterplassen gescheiden door kleine dijkjes. Het is een klein gebiedje met meestal wat meer algemene vogelsoorten. Maar dit kan veranderen tijdens de vogeltrek in de herfst, met name vanaf half augustus tot eind september. Als de waterstanden dan erg laag zijn en er veel modderige platen boven water komen te liggen, kun je hier leuke vogels zien zoals Spatola (soms grote groepen), Piro piro culbianco, Piro piro piccolo, Beccaccino, Garzetta en Pantana. Vaste gasten in het gebied zijn Cuculo, Cormorano, Martin pescatore, Moriglione, Picchio verde, Airone bianco maggiore (winter), Pettazzurro en Cannaiola. In de winter ook vaak Cesena en Tordo sassello.

Accesso
The area itself is only accessible on foot. You cannot walk around the lakes, but from the adjacent horse pasture (which is accessible to the public via 2 gates) you can have a good overview of the area. There are also 2 other interesting viewing spots indicated on the map. For the best place to park see the map. You can also easily reach the area by bike from the city of Nijmegen (7 km) and combine it with other bird areas in the surrounding Ooijpolder (also described on Birdingplaces).

Nederlands: Het kleine gebied zelf is alleen te voet toegankelijk. Je kunt niet rondom de plassen lopen, maar vanaf het aangrenzende paardenweiland (dat publiek toegankelijk is via twee klaphekjes) kun je het gebied goed overzien. Op de kaart staan nog 2 andere interessante kijkplekken aangegeven. Kom je met de auto, dan kun je in de woonwijk om de hoek parkeren (zie de P op de kaart). Je kunt het gebied ook gemakkelijk per fiets bereiken vanuit Nijmegen (ongeveer 7 km fietsen). De fiets kun je parkeren naast de klaphekjes die toegang geven tot het gebied. Een bezoek aan Jonkmanshof is mooi te combineren met andere vogelgebieden in de Ooijpolder (ook te vinden op Birdingplaces).
