Particularly striking are the large groups of Pittima reale that can be found in Het Weegje early in the year. The marshy forest in the area has many songbirds in summer, such as Codibugnolo, Tordo bottaccio, Usignolo di fiume, Cardellino , Forapaglie comune, and Cannaiola. But also Cuculo is often heard and seen. In the central part there is a lake with many waders, in addition to the Pittima reale also Pettegola , Beccaccino and Corriere piccolo.

Nederlands: Het Weegje is een prachtig natuur- en recreatiegebied onder de rook van Waddinxveen. Vooral opvallend zijn de grote groepen Pittima reale's die al vroeg in het jaar in het gebied te vinden zijn. Het moerasbosje in het gebied heeft zomers veel zangvogels, zoals Codibugnolo, Tordo bottaccio, Usignolo di fiume, Cardellino, Forapaglie comune en Cannaiola. Maar ook de Cuculo wordt vaak gehoord en gezien. In het centrale deel bevindt zich een meer met veel steltlopers, naast de Pittima reale ook Pettegola, Beccaccino en Corriere piccolo.

Accessible by car. Parking spots are available at the address Weegje 4, Waddinxveen. In the area itself one can walk on paved paths, while the side paths are unpaved.
