The Engelermeer is a recreational lake northwest of the city of 's-Hertogenbosch. Most of the area is intended for recreation. But a 58-hectare part on the northeast side of the lake is designated as a nature reserve where many birds can be seen. In the nature reserve you will find the remains of a duck decoy, open water, wetland forest, reed land and cultivated land. Note that the duck decoy is hard to reach and overgrown. Among the birds you can see are Martin pescatore, Cormorano, Quattrocchi, Codone, Moretta, Moriglione, Pesciaiola, Tuffetto, Usignolo di fiume, Migliarino di palude, Ciuffolotto, Usignolo, Pettazzurro, Capinera, Beccafico, Bigiarella, Cincia alpestre en Sterna comune.

Nederlands: Het Engelermeer is een recreatieplas ten noordwesten van 's-Hertogenbosch. De plas is genoemd naar het plaatsje Engelen, dat ten oosten van het Engelermeer aan de Dieze ligt. Het grootste deel van het gebied is bestemd voor recreatie. Maar een 58 hectare groot deel aan de noordoostzijde van de plas heeft als bestemming natuurgebied. In dit deel van het Engelermeer zijn altijd vogels te zien en in de winter veel soorten eenden en ganzen. In het natuurgebied vind je de restanten van een eendenkooi, open water, broekbos, rietland en cultuurland. De eendenkooi is rustgebied voor watervogels en moeilijk bereikbaar en grotendeels dichtgegroeid. Er is ook een oeverzwaluwenwand. Enkele van de vogels die je er kunt zien zijn Martin pescatore, Cormorano, Quattrocchi, Codone, Moretta, Moriglione, Pesciaiola, Tuffetto, Usignolo di fiume, Migliarino di palude, Ciuffolotto, Usignolo, Pettazzurro, Capinera, Beccafico, Bigiarella, Cincia alpestre en Sterna comune.

On the A59 towards Waalwijk, take exit 46 towards Engelen. At the traffic lights, turn right into Haverlij. After 1 km, go straight on at the first roundabout. At the second roundabout, go straight on as well. After 200 m you turn left and you can park in the parking lot behind the barrier (Engeler Visserspad). Access is free on roads and trails.

Nederlands: Neem op de A59 richting Waalwijk afslag 46 richting Engelen. Ga bij de stoplichten rechtsaf de Haverlij in. Ga na 1 km bij de eerste rotonde rechtdoor. Ga bij de tweede rotonde ook rechtdoor. Na 200 m ga je links en kun je parkeren op de parkeerplaats achter de slagboom (Engeler Visserspad). Toegang is vrij op wegen en paden.
