Nederlands: De Maneswaard is een mooi klein vogel gebiedje in ontwikkeling in de uiterwaarden van de Nederrijn bij Opheusden. Mede door de aanleg van vogeleilanden in de plas zullen er uiteindelijk nog meer vogels worden aangetrokken. Zoals het gebied nu is ingericht zijn er al veel watervogels aanwezig en dit zal naar de toekomst waarschijnlijk gaan toenemen. In de steilwand langs de Rijn broedt jaarlijks Topino. Ook kun je foeragerende Spatola zien en zowel Airone cenerino als Airone bianco maggiore zijn te vinden. Naast een incidentele Mignattaio. Ook verschillende eenden soorten zijn aanwezig zoals Germano reale en Canapiglia. En in het najaar en winter worden er ook Pesciaiola, soms Quattrocchi , Smergo maggiore , Piro piro culbianco, en diverse soorten ganzen waargenomen. There is ample parking space at the adjacent Veerhuis. The area itself can only be explored on foot. You can then walk around the lake and spot the beavers in addition to birds. After a round around the lake on a cold winter morning, you can warm up with a delicious cup of coffee or hot chocolate at the Veerhuis. If it is very hot in summer, you can of course also take a cool drink there. The route around the lake is about 2 km.

Nederlands: Bij het ernaast gelegen Veerhuis is ruimschoots parkeergelegenheid. Het gebied zelf is alleen te voet te verkennen. Men kan dan rond de plas wandelen en naast vogels ook de aanwezige bevers spotten. Na een rondje om de plas op een koude winter ochtend kun je lekker opwarmen met een heerlijk kop koffie of warme chocomel bij het Veerhuis. Mocht het zomers erg warm zijn kan daar natuurlijk ook een koele versnapering worden genomen. De route rond de plas is ongeveer 2 km. Het gebied is nog in ontwikkeling en in de toekomst is er een vogelkijkwand gepland.
