Bomenland is a forest that was created between 1903 and 1906 with pines and spruces to retain the dune sand. The spruces are are being replaced in time by deciduous trees. The forest is a good place to see Regolo and other forest birds such as Beccaccia, Rampichino comune, Picchio rosso maggiore and Cincia mora. Also, Cesena, Tordo sassello, Fiorrancino and Crociere comune are often seen in the forest. During the migration period, Luì forestiero often appears.

Nederlands: Bomenland is een bos dat is aangelegd tussen 1903 en 1906 met dennen en sparren om het duinzand vast te houden. De sparren zijn aan het einde van hun latijn en worden vervangen door loofbomen, maar verreweg het grootse deel bestaat nog uit naaldbos. Door Bomenland is een wandelroute door Staatsbosbeheer aangelegd. Deze is wandeling is 3,5 kilometer en is te volgen aan de hand van witte bordjes op paaltjes. De wandeling komt ook langs een hoog uitkijkpunt op de aangrenzende duinen en langs de vogelkijkhut van Dodemansbol (elders beschreven op Birdingplaces). Het bos van Bomenland is goede plek voor het zien van Regolo en andere bosvogels zoals Beccaccia, Rampichino comune, Picchio rosso maggiore en Cincia mora. Ook worden Cesena, Tordo sassello, Fiorrancino en Crociere comune in het bos gezien. Tijdens de trektijd duikt de Luì forestiero vaak op.

Vlieland can be reached by ferry from Harlingen. Several boats leave per day and the crossing takes about an hour and a half (see link for ferry tickets below). On Vlieland, no cars are allowed, so you have to get here by bike or island bus. The bus brings you right to restaurant Posthuys at the beginning of the Kroon's Polders. Click on the P in the map for directions to the bicycle parking area. The marked walk is 4 km and starts at Hotel Posthuys Vlieland.

Nederlands: Op Vlieland zijn geen auto's toegestaan, dus je moet met de fiets of eilandbus naar de westpunt van het eiland komen. De bus brengt je tot bij restaurant Posthuys.
