The part of the lagoon that is located on the north-west side of Venice is a great place for birding. A very nice wetland full of waders and waterbirds.

Descrizione

There are many species that can be observed in the laguna Veneta all seasons of the year. For some years there are also Fenicottero breeding. Other special birds you could see here are Falco pellegrino, Ghiandaia marina, Cuculo dal ciuffo, Casarca, Moretta tabaccata, Airone guardabuoi and Chiurlo maggiore. A total amount of over 450 thousand waterfowl live throughout the lagoon. And today there are more than 8,000 Fenicottero that winter in the lagoon.
