Descrizione
The area includes corn and wheat fields, with scattered areas of bushes and woods. Its open viewing angle makes this area optimal for observations, both for spring and autumn migration of passerines and raptors. In spring you can see tens or even hundreds of Cutrettolas of almost all WP subspecies (included Sykes's, Iberian, British and Black-headed), tens of Culbiancos, Allodolas , some Pispola golarossas, Calandros and the rare Calandrella (the only regular stop-over site in the province of Varese). In winter Averla maggiore is a regular visitor and sometimes over-winters in the area along with tens of Spioncellos, hundreds of Fringuelloes, Peppolas but also Fanellos and Migliarino di paludes. Taccolas are also a regular visitor and breed in the surrounding area.
