Descrizione
Hopeland is part of the Wexford Harbour and Slobs special protection area and in winter it regularly holds nationally important numbers of Oca colombaccio and Volpoca.
Low tide is best for the most variety of species, particularly waders, but high tide is also good for large roosting flocks and for ducks such as Quattrocchi, Moretta codona and Smergo minore. Smeriglio can be readily encountered in the area in winter, while Albanella reale can also be observed on occasion.
