Descrizione
In the treeless landscape of the Puszta with its arid climate this little woodland between Hortobágy village and Debrecen stands out. It is a great place to spot Falco cuculo. The falcons are attracted to the Corvo comune colony that builds its nests in the wood. Falco cuculo do not make a nest themselves. So when the Falco cuculo arrive at the end of April there is a fight for the nests.
A visit can be easily combined with the Hortobáhy halastó (fish ponds) (also described on Birdingplaces) that are located on the same road.
