Descrizione
The road between Mavria and Platania is a great road to stop and drive along, and to observe many local breeding species, like Canapino levantino, Bigia grossa orientale and Sterpazzolina. The small houses and farms a worth a check for Civetta, and the scattered trees are perfect for Tottavilla. The scrubs and bushes are great for many species of shrike, like Averla capirossa and Averla mascherata. The rocky outcrops are great for Picchio muratore di roccia and Ortolano grigio.
During migration, the area is worth to check for species like Ghiandaia marina, Gruccione and Rigogolo. Raptors are always present, and tend to hang around the hill tops, like Poiana codabianca.

There's a road present, which you can stop and drive along between Platania and Mavria. Park your car carefully along the road, and check the area with binoculars.
