Descrizione
Usedomer Strand is located near Peenemünde. From the beach you can easily observe migrating and resting birds. In winter, the Baltic Sea is full of sea ducks (like Orchetto marino, Moretta codona, Orco marino, Moretta grigia) divers (like Svasso maggiore, , Svasso collorosso) and swans. Loons (Strolaga minore, Strolaga mezzana) migrate across the Baltic Sea.
In spring, groups of songbirds fly parallel to the dune forest to their breeding areas. From August onwards, individual Limikols (such as Piovanello tridattilo, Piovanello pancianera, Piovanello maggiore, Beccaccia di mare) are on the beach and terns are on the water. From the smallest (Fraticello) to the largest (Sterna maggiore) everything is possible. In late autumn the geese (Oca lombardella, Oca facciabianca, Oca granaiola della tundra) fly to their resting areas. Aquila di mare is often observed in this area.
