Thülsfelder Talsperre is particularly interesting because of its waterfowl. The Cigno minore and Cigno selvatico are especially noteworthy, as they can be found in larger numbers during the winter. Various species of geese can also be observed, such as Oca selvatica, Oca lombardella and Oca granaiola della tundra. Many duck species can also be found here, besides Germano reale also Alzavola, Canapiglia and Fischione.

Thülsfelder Talsperre is located between the towns of Cloppenburg and Friesoythe. Parking is available mainly on the east side of the reservoir, in the north in the large parking lot of the Hotel Seeblick or in a hiking parking lot in the far south.
