The woodland on Asperberg is home to several types of forest. From beech forest to coniferous forest to mixed forest. As a result, many forest bird species can be found there. But the high density of woodpeckers is characteristic. Five woodpecker species (Picchio nero, Picchio rosso maggiore, Picchio rosso mezzano, Picchio rosso minore and Picchio verde) can be found in the area.
