NSG Auf dem Brink is characterized by a mix of wetlands, ponds, and dry areas, which were formed due to subsidence from mining activities. The Süggelbach stream flows through the reserve, creating a variety of biotopes, including reed beds, large sedge meadows, and high-growing herbaceous plants. Well hidden near the pond, is a Gabbiano comune colony and you can observe many other water birds such as Germano reale, Oca canadese, Oca selvatica and Martin pescatore.
