Descrizione
The Meiner Stapelteiche area consists of several small ponds with extensive reed beds and shoreline areas, as well as open water and a small wooded area. This structure offers good conditions for a variety of bird species.
Waterfowl such as Cigno reale, Germano reale, Alzavola, Mestolone, Oca selvatica, Volpoca and other water birds can be well observed. Also waders like Pittima reale, Pantana and Piro piro culbianco use the area as a rest area. The large reedbeds are suitable for species such as Migliarino di palude and Pettazzurro. During migration, the area is attractive to migratory birds. Birds of prey such as Poiana or Nibbio reale frequently circle over the surrounding fields and meadows.
