Descrizione
Originally created by monks, the upper and lower Kelzer Teich continue to be used for fish farming. All other bodies of water were created for nature conservation reasons. Cannaiola, Tuffetto and Porciglione breed in the extensive reed beds. Lodolaio and Falco di palude hunt here and every year at migration time Falco pescatore can be observed. Occasionally, rarities such as Tarabuso, Svasso collorosso or Airone rosso are also reported. In winter the water from the ponds is drained.
