Jröne Meerke (little green sea) is a small park with a pond at the north-western edge of the city of Neuss. It contains the only Western European colony of Oca delle nevi. Depending on the season there are also numerous other waterfowl, such as Moretta, Germano reale, Canapiglia, Tuffetto, Cormorano, Gallinella d'acqua or Folaga. There are many trees and a small forest in the park that host numerous songbirds, including Tordo bottaccio, Tordela, Picchio muratore, Fringuello, Cardellino, Verdone, Pettirosso, Cinciarella, Cinciallegra and many more. If you want to see the Oca delle nevi, you should come in the early morning or before sunset as the geese often go out to the surrounding fields for feeding.
