Descrizione
In winter, the Hurstsee is home to a great number and variety of ducks and other waterbirds. There are good numbers (between 15 and 100+) of Germano reale, Canapiglia, Moretta, Moriglione, Folaga and Cormorano.
Smaller groups of Alzavola and Svasso maggiore can usually be seen scattered across the lake. Oca egiziana and Cigno reale are often present, as well as Airone bianco maggiore, Airone cenerino, Martin pescatore and Ballerina gialla along the fringes of the lake.
With a bit of luck, you can also see Smergo maggiore, Fischione, Codone, Marzaiola (on spring migration) or even a stunning Pesciaiola here!
Waterbirds are the main attraction, but the trees and bushes around the lake are worth checking too. There are plenty of common woodland / garden birds, plus a good chance of seeing (or hearing) any of the following: Lucherino, Frosone, Ciuffolotto, Passera scopaiola, Fiorrancino, Tordo sassello and Picchio nero.
