Descrizione
The Horbachpark was created as part of the state garden show of 1988. The little Horbach stream flows through the park and into a lake. There are many paths and benches throughout the park. The lake and the surrounding grass and reed fringes are home to Cigno reale, Germano reale, Folaga and Gallinella d'acqua. Around the edges of the park and beyond, there is an attractive mix of gardens and allotments. These host a good variety of Tits, Finches and Woodpeckers, including Cincia bigia, Codibugnolo, Frosone, Lucherino and Picchio verde.
In the woods adjacent to the park, it is possible to observe Cincia mora, Cincia dal ciuffo and Regolo. Raptors like Poiana, Nibbio reale and Astore can often be seen soaring over the woods and slopes above the town. If you're in Ettlingen the park is well worth a visit. It's also a great place to combine family time at the playground with a bit of birding.
