Freiburg is a city worth a visit and the Rieselfeld is close enough to be compatible with a visit to the town. In the wet areas, you can find wetland-loving birds such as ducks, Beccaccino, Piro piro boschereccio, Airone bianco maggiore, Porciglione, Pavoncella and Airone cenerino. Other birds you can see in the surrounding area are Torcicollo, Cuculo, Averla maggiore, Nibbio reale, Nibbio bruno, Allodola, Averla piccola, Saltimpalo and Sterpazzola. In the forest areas that are adjacent to the nature reserve breed Picchio rosso minore, Picchio rosso mezzano, Picchio nero, Rigogolo and Picchio muratore.
