Frauenteich Moritzburg is a nature reserve of approximately 202 hectares. It is part of the wider Moritzburger Teiche area. The main pond is the large Frauenteich, a quiet, reed‑lined basin. Besides the Frauenteich, it includes the much smaller Schösserteich pond and also encompasses some forests, meadows, and fields in the immediate vicinity. With more than 190 bird species recorded, about half of which are breeding birds, the nature reserve is considered an important breeding, feeding, resting, and moulting area. Birds you can observe include Cannareccione, Rigogolo, Porciglione, Forapaglie comune, Migliarino di palude, Salciaiola, Zigolo giallo, Strillozzo, Pavoncella, Frosone, Usignolo Falco di palude, Nibbio reale and Aquila di mare.

The Frauenteich nature reserve is located north of Moritzburg. You can make a circular walk of 7 km around the nature reserve, or go to the bird hide that is located on the southern shore of the Frauenteich pond. You can park in the surrounding area. Public transport: Moritzburg has a train station (1). From there it is about a 3 km walk/bike ride to the area.
