Feuchtgebiet Gretesch is a wetland that is home to many different species of birds throughout the year. Especially waterfowl such as Canapiglia, Alzavola, Folaga or Tuffetto. During migration you can also see wading birds such as Beccaccino or Piro piro culbianco. Depending on the season, songbirds such as Saltimpalo and Ballerina gialla as well as birds of prey such as Poiana, Gheppio or Civetta can be found in the neighboring meadows.

By car, take the A33 motorway and take exit 7 “Lüstringen”. Drive east on Mindener Straße and after about 1 km turn left onto “Burg Gretesch” street. After another 750 m there is a publicly accessible parking lot on the right. The nearest bus stop is “Osnabrück Schoeller”. The best way to explore the area is on foot from the car park or bus stop. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 1,5 km.
