Disused quarry near the forest of Dossenheim.
The site of Dossenheim Steinbruch Vatter is characterized primarily by rock formations. There are also small ponds and adjacent forest. In addition, some industrial buildings have been preserved, but these are cordoned off. Due to the diverse areas, a wide variety of bird species can also be found here. Special observations here are Gufo reale, Falco pellegrino, Picchio nero, Picchio rosso minore and Falco pecchiaiolo. In addition, many smaller songbirds can be seen here. Dossenheim Steinbruch Vatter is located 5 km north of Heidelberg, near the town of Dossenheim. There is a car park in front of the quarry. Press P on the map for directions. The best way to explore the area is on foot.
