The typical species of a city can be seen at the Decksteiner Weiher in summer. On the lake Oca canadese, Oca egiziana, Svasso maggiore and Germano reale can be seen. Around the lake you can observe Picchio verde, Cardellino, Picchio rosso mezzano and much more. In winter, however, more rare duck species such as Moretta, Moriglione, Canapiglia and with a bit of luck also Moretta tabaccata can be found.

Decksteiner Weiher is easy to reach by bike from Cologne (Köln). You can also get there easily by car. Click on a P in the map for directions to a parking. A circular walk around the lake is about 5 km.
