The Altes Feld (Old Field) near Dainrode was the largest Hessian resting place for Pavoncella in the 1970s with daily maximums (resting population) of around 14,000. Up to 600 Piviere dorato. Rare Piviere tortolino. Large numbers of raptors, sometimes over 50 Nibbio reale and 100 Poiana. The Poiana calzata is an occasional migrant and winter guest. In the cold winter of 86/87 up to 20 individuals. Albanella reale, Falco di palude, Smeriglio and Zigolo delle nevi regularly. Sometimes Gru rest, often thousands of them migrating. Maximum numbers: Allodola 10,000, Cesena 10,000, Tordo sassello 6,000, Storno 200,000, Pispola 2,000.

Altes Feld located near the village of Dainrode. The area is crossed by the B 253 and is very easy to reach. Driving on dirt roads is forbidden, but is probably never checked.
