Alte Elbe is an old arm of the river Elbe near the town of Gerwisch. Good chances to see Aquila di mare, Falco pescatore and Gru. Many waterbirds, especially during migration time (e.g., Airone bianco maggiore, Airone cenerino, Oca selvatica, Oca granaiola della taiga, Mestolone, Alzavola, Marzaiola, Cigno selvatico, Pesciaiola, Smergo maggiore, Svasso maggiore, Tuffetto, Pavoncella, Pantana, Totano moro, Combattente). In the adjacent areas Nibbio reale, Nibbio bruno, Gheppio, Picchio nero, Torcicollo, and very occasionally Gruccione or Upupa can be seen.
