At the river Ahr are breeding Corriere piccolo and Martin pescatore. In the floodplains are meadows, forests and a little reedbed. In the meadows are breeding Civetta (10 territories in 2020). Averla piccola and Forapaglie macchiettato are possible breeding birds. In the forests are breeding Usignolo , Rigogolo and Picchio rosso mezzano. You can also see Nibbio bruno and Lodolaio during breeding time. In the little reedbed are Cannaiola and Cannaiola verdognola (also common next to the Ahr). Canapino comune and Canapino maggiore can also be found in the area.
During migration, you can see migratory birds like Falco pescatore and Piro piro culbianco. In winter you can see some wintering birds like Merlo acquaiolo.

There is a train station in Linz (direct connections to Cologne and Koblenz), from where you have to cross the Rhine with the ferry to Kripp. Another train station is in Sinzig (direct connections to Bonn and Koblenz) from where you can go directly to the meadows at the southern edge of the area.
You can park in Kripp (follow the B9 until Kripp). The walking route you see on the map is about 7 km.
