The savannahs in French Guiana are threatened and very limited in area. Savane Marivat is easy to access and to explore thanks to various trails. The savannah allows the observation of species of open environments such as: White-tailed Hawk, Orange-winged Parrot, White-eyed Parakeet, Tropical Kingbird, Red-breasted Meadowlark, Blue-gray Tanager, Wedge-tailed Grass-Finch, Fork-tailed Palm-Swift, Swallow-winged Puffbird, Green-tailed Goldenthroat, Laughing Falcon, Spotted Tody-Flycatcher , Yellow-bellied Elaenia, White-winged Swallow, Short-crested Flycatcher, Variegated Flycatcher, Violaceous Euphonia, Burnished-buff Tanager, Turquoise Tanager, Snail Kite, Cinereous Becard, Boat-billed Flycatcher, Cinnamon Attila, Pied Puffbird, Red-bellied Macaw, Lesser Nighthawk, Black-throated Mango, Paradise Jacamar.

To access the Savane Marivat, you have to go to the Carapa district (towards Montsinéry from Cayenne). At the end of the district, you can park your car in a grove and take the path. Plan to do the path in good weather, early in the morning or with a good hat.

Français: Pour accéder à la savane marivat il faut se rendre dans le quatier de la carapa (direction montsinéry depuis cayenne). Au fond du quartier vous pouvez garer votre voiture dans un bosquet et emruntrer le sentier. Prévoir de faire le sentier par temps nageux, tot le matin ou avec un bon chapeau.
