Réserve Naturelle Nationale de Lilleau des Niges will allow you to observe many species, with great proximity, while respecting the birds. Among the most common, you most likely meet the Piro piro piccolo, Piro piro culbianco, Pantana, Pettegola, Beccaccino, Gambecchio comune, Piovanello tridattilo, Piovanello maggiore, Pittima reale, Pittima minore, Chiurlo maggiore, Chiurlo piccolo, Corriere piccolo, Corriere grosso, Fratino, Pivieressa, Avocetta, Cavaliere d'Italia, and many more!
On the Laridae side, it is possible to observe Gabbiano comune, Gabbiano corallino, Gavina, Gabbiano reale nordico, Gabbiano reale, Zafferano, Mugnaiaccio, Fraticello, Sterna comune, Beccapesci for the most common. The reserve is also a paradise for small passerines, in particular the emblematic Pettazzurro, but also Beccamoschino, Cannaiola, Canapino comune, Cutrettola.

Réserve Naturelle Nationale de Lilleau des Niges is located south of the village of Les Portes-en-Ré. Parking is provided next to the Maison du Fier. Press P on the map for directions. It is possible to visit the reserve on foot or by bike. The circular walk indicated on the map is about 7.5 km.
