In Forêt des Battées you can observe birds of prey such as Astore and Aquila minore and woodpeckers such as Picchio rosso mezzano and Picchio nero. Also Corvo imperiale, Colombella and Luì verde breed in the forest. Beccaccia can be found on passage or in winter.

To get to Forêt des Battées, in the village of La Forge, take the small road to Val Saint-Benoît. Park just after the bridge over the TGV line. Click on the P in the map for directions. The circular walking route indicated on the map is about 4 km.
