On the shores of Lac du Bourget, in its southern part, a protected natural area shelters many animals and plants that depend on wetlands.
In winter, the lake welcomes nearly 20,000 birds. It is a major site for the wintering of water birds. In spring, it is the highlight of the period of love and parades of Svasso maggiore.
