During migration and winter the water bodies can host lots of ducks if they have not been flushed by fishermen or hunters, among which several dozens of Moriglione and Moretta and several hundreds of Folaga . A rarity such as the Orco marino or Moretta grigia is always possible in winter. Still in winter but above all during October-November and March the wet grassland is a very good spot for Beccaccino and Frullino.
In summer typical breeders include Sterna comune and Svasso maggiore on the lake, Averla piccola in the bushes or Pispola in the grassland.
In late summer and early autumn when water level drops the south-western water body can be very good for waders particularly Piro piro boschereccio or for a Cicogna nera stopover. In spring when water level is higher, Mignattino comune , Mignattino piombato or Gabbianello are regularly seen foraging over water.
