Tissø is the 4th largest freshwater lake in Denmark. It is easy to acces and overlook. Tissø is home to a rich and varied birdlife and Aquila di mare breeds here and it is easy to see. Also Falco pescatore can be seen. On the lake itself Svasso maggiore, Smergo maggiore, various dabbling and diving ducks, geese and Folaga are usual residents. The beach meadows and reed beds house many foraging and breeding birds like Avocetta, Fraticello, Migliarino di palude, Falco di palude in addition to Tarabuso, Basettino and Forapaglie macchiettato.

Almost all of the lakeside is on private hands, but there is a publicly accessible birdwatching tower near Fugledegård. Click on the P in the map to get directions to the parking. From there it's a 500 meter walk to the observation tower.
