Draved Forest is one of the best developed natural forests, where the untouched parts are reminiscent of primeval forest. This is partly due to the fact that it has been well sheltered by the surrounding, hard-to-reach bogs, like Kongens Mose. The area has lots of old, dead and decaying trees that offer an abundance of food and nesting sites. 198 species of birds have been registered, 113 of them as breeding. Among the birds you can encounter are Cuculo, Beccaccino, Beccaccia, Gufo reale, Allocco, Pettazzurro, Averla piccola, Averla maggiore, Lodolaio, Picchio nero, Picchio rosso minore and Picchio verde.

Bring wellies, the forest is untouched and not drained so at times the trail is partially flooded. It is not advisable to go into the moors without a local guide.
