Descrizione

Kampa Park is located on the west bank of the Vltava River, not far from the island "Střelecký ostrov", near Petřín Park. In addition to the museum and gallery of the same name, it is a popular place for a picnic or an afternoon walk, so a higher number of visitors can be expected. The park consists mainly of taller trees and well-maintained asphalt paths. In addition to waterfowl such as Moretta, Folaga, Canapiglia, Gallinella d'acqua, Gabbiano comune, Airone cenerino, Cormorano, Germano reale and a large number of swans, songbirds can also be observed in the park. Especially Cinciarella and Merlo can be found here almost all the time.

Occasionally, you can also catch a glimpse of Cinciallegra, Codibugnolo, Pettirosso, Scricciolo, Picchio muratore, Picchio verde, Picchio rosso maggiore, Rampichino alpestre, Luì grosso, Ballerina gialla, and many others. There are abundant species of corvids here such as Taccola, Corvo comune and Gazza. With a little luck, you'll even see a Martin pescatore fly by.

If you head to Petřín, where there is relatively more vegetation (bushes), you will also be able to observe species such as Bigiarella, Cincia bigia, Luì verde and after spring, abundant numbers of Cardellino. Quite common here among predators are Sparviere and Gheppio.

Accesso

Parking is possible in the adjacent streets, and parking payments can be made via the "Moje Praha" application. Tram stops No. 9, 12, 15, 20 and 22 are also located in the vicinity of the park. Kampa and Petřín parks are best explored on foot or by using the paid bike rental service "Rekola" using a mobile application.

Waterfowl can also be observed from the adjacent Střelecký ostrov or by renting a boat. A walk in Kampa Park itself takes approximately 15-20 minutes, as it is smaller, so it is worth combining the activity with Střelecký ostrov or Petřín. Petřín is naturally uphill, so you have to be prepared to get a little warm and climb a few stairs. In addition, there are public toilets everywhere.
