There have been recorded more than 250 birds species. It is a nesting site of the in Silesia rare Basettino and there are nesting some other rare birds like Tarabusino , Pettazzurro and Ciuffolotto scarlatto. It is also a popular bird stop during migration time. In Spring you can see there for example Culbianco , Salciaiola , Gabbiano corallino , Falco pescatore and sometimes even Pagliarolo and Forapaglie castagnolo.
During the Autumn migration you can see many species of waders like Piovanello pancianera , Combattente , Gambecchio comune , Piovanello comune , Totano moro , Piro piro boschereccio and some other. Also you can observe Voltolino or Porciglione.
In Winter it is an ideal place for watching Basettino and if you are lucky you can see wintering Tarabuso or Fanello nordico .
Various bird rarities were also recorded here: Falaropo beccosottile , Voltapietre , Piro piro del Terek , Pittima reale , Piovanello maggiore , Gabbiano di Pallas , Beccapesci , Sterna codalunga , Rondine rossiccia , Albanella pallida , Gabbiano di Sabine , Pagliarolo , Forapaglie castagnolo and many others.

The location is inaccessible by car, so it is best to park somewhere in Ostrava and walk to the location or go by bus. I recommend a walk along the western side of the pond. You can make a circle around, but if you want to see some reed birds, it is best to wait near the reeds or go on one of the fishing bridges (but be careful, it can be dangerous).
