Descrizione
Cape Kormakitis is a promontory named after the nearby village. The cape marks the northernmost extent of Morphou Bay. From the cape you have a good chance of observing Gabbiano reale, Gabbiano corso, Berta minore, Berta maggiore mediterranea and Marangone dal ciuffo. In the fields, treelines and bushes behind the cape you can find birds such as Sterpazzola della Sardegna, Occhiocotto, Calandrella and Cappellaccia.
From August to October many gulls, terns, herons, ibis and waders pass the cape during migration. Also birds of prey flying south from Turkey often make a stop here. And during migration don't forget to scan the bushes and fields for flycatchers, redstarts, pipits, wagtails and warblers.
