Plateau du Gerny is an area of open fields surrounded by bushes. Nibbio reale and Nibbio bruno are frequent. Annual observations of Piviere tortolino, Albanella minore, Calandro and sometimes Gru on the ground. Rare visiors that have been observed in the area are Calandro maggiore, Pispola golarossa, Zigolo golarossa, Ortolano, Zigolo delle nevi, Upupa, Poiana calzata, Albanella pallida, Aquila minore, Nibbio bianco and Falco cuculo.

You can visit the main part of Plateau du Gerny by car but the eastern part is forbidden for cars. The circular route indicated on the map is about 8 km.
