Even the industrial/urban area in the north of this region harbours quite some good species in winter, like Fischione, Canapiglia, Moretta and Moriglione. They can be common near te sewage works, as do gulls Tuffetto and Oca selvatica.
In recent years Tarabuso has become almost annual (often more then one) and some years Basettino turns up. There's a big breeding population of Cannaiola (>20 pairs) as do Usignolo di fiume and Migliarino di palude in small numbers. In some years even Pettazzurro breeds here.
The meadow areas further to the south, especially those along the railway hold most of the time waders in late winter and spring. Pittima reale, Piro piro boschereccio, Piro piro culbianco, Combattente, Corriere piccolo (breeds some years), Piovanello pancianera, Beccaccino, Frullino and others are seen annual. In winter this area often holds Spioncello. In wet years species as Marzaiola and Mestolone can be breeding here. Irregular breeders are Migliarino di palude, Usignolo di fiume and Saltimpalo.
The area more to the south can hold Martin pescatore, Ballerina gialla, Saltimpalo and the same species mentioned earlier, but chances on these are more remote.
