The Buggenhoutbos is the habitat of various forest species that can be found here all year round, such as Picchio rosso mezzano, Ghiandaia, Picchio muratore and Allocco. The grazed meadow is the ideal habitat for Saltimpalo, Sterpazzola, Gheppio and Fanello. During the migration periods, interesting species can be seen, such as Canapino maggiore, Averla piccola, Culbianco and various birds of prey such as Falco di palude. Various species such as Starna, Quaglia, Pavoncella and Allodola feel at home in the surrounding agricultural plots.

Nederlands: Het Buggenhoutbos is een combinatie van eeuwenoud loofbos met jonge percelen bos. Grenzend aan het bos is een open weide die wordt begraasd door runderen. Het oude loofbos is het geliefde habitat van verschillende bossoorten die hier het jaar rond te vinden zijn zoals Picchio rosso mezzano, Ghiandaia, Picchio muratore en Allocco.
De begraasde weide is het ideale habitat voor Saltimpalo, Sterpazzola, Gheppio en Fanello. Tijdens de trekperiodes kunnen interessante soorten gezien worden zoals Canapino maggiore, Averla piccola, Culbianco en verschillende roofvogels zoals de Falco di palude. In de omliggende landbouwpercelen voelen verschillende soorten zoals Starna, Quaglia, Pavoncella en Allodola zich thuis.

The Buggenhoutbos is located south of the village of Buggenhout. You can park at the official Buggenhoutbos car park. Press P on the map for directions to the car park. The area can only be explored on foot or by bike. The circular walk shown on the map is approximately 4 km.

Nederlands: Het Buggenhoutbos ligt ten zuiden van het dorp Buggenhout. Parkeren kan aan de officiële parking van Buggenhoutbos. Druk op P in de kaart voor een routebeschrijving naar de parkeerplaats. Het gebied kan enkel te voet of met de fiets worden verkend. De rondwandeling die is weergegeven op de kaart is ongeveer 4 km.
