The Bovenlanden is a flood plain area that consists of grassland with canals and water surfaces, where water birds and waders feel at home. Birds that you can encounter in the area include Oca selvatica, Oca lombardella, Oca canadese, Cigno reale, Oca egiziana, Volpoca, Alzavola, Pantana, Corriere piccolo, Pettegola, Piro piro boschereccio, Saltimpalo and Pettazzurro.

Nederlands: De Bovenlanden is een overstromingsgebied dat via de getijden van de rivier Rupel dagelijks wordt voorzien van nieuw water. Het gebied bestaat uit grasland met kanaaltjes en watervlakten, waarin watervogels en steltlopers zich thuis voelen. Vogels die je in het gebied kunt aantreffen zijn onder meer Oca selvatica, Oca lombardella, Oca canadese, Cigno reale, Oca egiziana, Volpoca, Alzavola, Pantana, Corriere piccolo, Pettegola, Piro piro boschereccio, Saltimpalo en Pettazzurro.

De Bovenlanden is located north of the village of Heindonk on the river Rupel. Ideal area to visit by bike. By car parking a few hundred meters away. Press the P on the map for directions to the parking lot. A walk around the area is approximately 3 km.

Nederlands: De Bovenlanden ligt ten noorden van het dorp Heindonk aan de rivier Rupel. Ideaal gebied om met de fiets te bezoeken. Eventueel met de auto en parkeren op enkele honderden meters. Druk op de P in de kaart voor een routebschrijving naar de parkeerplaats. Een wandeling rondom het gebied is ongeveer 3 km.
