The Bois de Baudour is a mixed forest with several shallow ponds that are evidence of the ancient exploitation of clay. The site is dotted with traces of the past such as the old gatekeeper's house, the bridge overhanging the old railway line, etc. But the main landmark is the octagonal building located at the edge of the wood called the Ronde Maison.
Forest birds include Picchio rosso maggiore, Picchio rosso mezzano, Picchio nero, Cincia bigia, Cincia dal ciuffo, Cincia mora, Astore, Rampichino comune and Picchio muratore. Some birds of prey are also likely to be encountered there: Astore, Lodolaio, Falco pecchiaiolo and Sparviere.

Français: Forêt mixte avec étang. Le bois de Baudour, ancienne propriété des Princes de Ligne, qui en possèdent encore actuellement la partie occidentale, est situé au nord- ouest de Mons et s’étend sur une superficie approximative de 324 hectares. Le site est jalonné de traces du passé tels l’ancienne maison du garde barrière, le pont surplombant l’ancienne ligne de chemin de fer,…Mais le point de repère principal reste ce drôle de bâtiment octogonal situé à l’orée du bois qu’est la Ronde Maison.
Parmi les oiseaux forestiers peuvent être cités Pic épeiche, Pic mar, Pic noir, Mésange huppée, Mésange noire, Sitelle torchepot, Grimpereau,… Quelques rapaces sont susceptibles d’y être rencontrés: Autour des palombes, Faucon hobereau, Buse variable, Bondrée apivore, Epervier d’Europe …

The Bois de Baudour is located northwest of Mons. There are several access points to the estate, but the most beautiful is the one near the Ronde Maison, at the edge of the woods, at the place called "Montauban", via rue du Canard, 7050 Erbisoeul. Parking is easy there. From the E19 / A7 towards Mons, exit 23 bis Nimy Maisières. Turn right onto the N56 towards Ath. Near Jurbise, turn left onto Chemin du Prince. Continue on rue d'Erbisoeul, turn left onto rue du Canard. The circular route shown on the map is about 8 km, but there are many other trails and it's easy to make the route shorter or longer.

Français: Plusieurs accès permettent l’entrée au domaine mais le plus beau est celui à proximité de la Ronde Maison, à l’orée du bois, au lieu-dit « Montauban », par la rue du Canard, 7050 Erbisoeul. Le parking y est aisé. A partir de l'E19 /A7 direction Mons, sortie 23 bis Nimy Maisières. Prendre à droite la N56 en direction d’Ath. A proximité de Jurbise, Prendre à gauche le Chemin du Prince. Continuer sur la rue d'Erbisoeul, Prendre à gauche la rue du Canard.
