The wide reedbeds and ponds of Anderstad act as a resting area during migration and as a breeding ground for many rare species.

Descrizione

Mignattino comune, Pittima reale and numerous other species of waders come here to gain strength here during their migration. Many Cormorano come over from various breeding grounds in Belgium to spend the night in the area. You can regularly spot Falco di palude, Falco pescatore, Basettino and many larks on migration. As annual winter guests there are Tarabuso, Smergo maggiore and various gull species. Worth mentioning is the roosting place of Gufo comune. Easy area to walk around and from the dikes a nice view over the ponds.

Nederlands: De Beneden-Netevallei is een waar paradijs voor vogels. De brede rietkragen en vijvers fungeren als rustgebied tijdens de trek en als broedgebied voor heel wat zeldzame soorten. Zwarte stern, grutto en talrijke andere soorten steltlopers komen hier verse krachten opdoen tijdens de trek. Vanuit diverse broedplaatsen in België komen heel wat aalscholvers overgetrokken om in de omgeving te overnachten. Regelmatig worden kiekendieven, buizerds, visarenden en vele leeuweriken op trek waargenomen. Jaarlijkse wintergasten zijn roerdomp, grote zaagbek en diverse meeuwensoorten. Vermeldenswaard is de slaapplaats van ransuilen. Gemakkelijk gebied om rond te lopen en vanaf de dijken een mooi uitzicht over de vijvers.
