Schönauer Teich (Lake Schönau) is located near Schönau an der Triesting. The scenic pond has also one of the most species-rich breeding grounds for waterfowl in Lower Austria and serves as a resting station for migrating birds. Among the birds you can encounter are Beccaccino, Airone cenerino, Falco pescatore, Smergo maggiore, Airone bianco maggiore, Fistione turco, Gallinella d'acqua, Folaga, Svasso maggiore, Migliarino di palude, Cannaiola, Cormorano and Pavoncella.
